Welcome to the Magical World of Catherine Lucktaylor
Catherine Lucktaylor is a visual artist and sculptor based in West Cornwall, UK.
Since relocating to Cornwall in 2009, Catherine has been focusing on making ceramic sculptures, bowls and coil pots. Her latest work is inspired by the magic and mystery of West Cornwall in the form of beautiful and sensuous mermaids, landscape pots and bowls. Her elegantceramics are designed to create an aura of magic and ethereal beauty to enhance any environment.
In 1999 Catherine was awarded a Winston Churchill Trust Travelling Fellowship and 'Connections' was her pilgrimage to West Africa and Brazil. Her research on traditional religion and sacred art has been a continuing source of inspiration for her mixed media artwork.
Following a BA Hons in Ceramics at Wolverhampton Polytechnic, Catherine has developed her art practice to incorporate a range of materials to create sculptures and mixed media pieces, installations, paintings and digital prints.
Alongside her own art practice she has been involved in arts education with both adults and children for over 20 years.
